Introducing TypingDNA Human Likeness – A Novel Bot Detection Approach for the AI Age

Research and development

Over the years, TypingDNA has explored new applications of typing biometrics,
from behavioral insights to content integrity and bot detection.

Typing biometrics research

Our R&D has explored a wide range of applications based on how people type. Some have evolved into new capabilities, while others were experimental projects that have since been retired.

Human Likeness and bot detection
Our latest research explores whether typing behavior can help distinguish natural human input from scripted, synthetic, replayed, or AI-agent-driven interactions. Learn more

Retype detection
We developed a typing-based integrity signal that estimates whether text was composed naturally or retyped from another source, including AI-generated content. Learn more

Focus and mood prediction
Our research into mood prediction led to TypingDNA Focus, an experimental application that predicted states such as focus, stress, tiredness, energy, happiness, and calm based on typing behavior. Focus has since been retired. Learn more

User profiling
Earlier research explored whether typing patterns could help predict soft biometric traits and other user characteristics. This research is no longer active. Learn more
