Keep unauthorized users out of company computers

The Premium version has all the basic functionality and is a commercial license that can be used for your business computers. The Enterprise version adds centralized logs, command-line access and ability to customize some extra settings. The Trial version is limited to 30 days and can only be used for evaluation purposes.

In the Enterprise version, you gain the ability to centralize logs in your log aggregation platform. Currently, we can send your logs to Datadog, Splunk, or Loki/Grafana. If you have a different logging system, we're happy to integrate the app with it. Logs can then be searched, viewed in a dashboard, and used to define alerts triggered by authentication failures, notifying your security personnel immediately in case of a potential breach.

In the Enterprise version, you also have the ability to run Terminal commands, allowing a local or remote Terminal superuser to modify and adjust the app's settings without interacting with the UI. This is particularly useful for larger deployments.

ActiveLock is a background app that runs on your computer (not in the cloud). It uses a limited amount of resources and monitors your keystrokes from behind the scenes. Every 10 seconds, it evaluates your activity and authenticates your typing pattern. If authentication fails, we assume it might be an impostor using your computer, and the app will lock the screen to prevent further access to your computer, data, and logged internet websites and apps. At any point afterward, a genuine user can log back in using the regular Windows/MacOS login system. Training usually takes up to 2 working days, and once the app is initially trained, it will continue to improve in recognizing you versus a potential intruder. Various security levels are available, and we recommend keeping the app on the Balanced setting, but feel free to contact us for more detailed advice.

The app runs on both Windows and MacOSX in any of the following configurations:

A. Windows 10+
Compatible with all devices running Windows 10 or higher.
Requires at least a 1GHz, 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC).
Requires at least 4 GB of RAM.

B. MacOSX 11+
Compatible with all existing Apple hardware running MacOSX 11 or higher.
Requires a 64-bit Intel processor or an Apple ARM-based processor.
Requires at least an Intel Core M Processor 1.1GHz.
Requires at least 4 GB of RAM.

We charge for each unique installation (unique device). This means that each device with at least one user set up will require a license. If multiple users share the same device, you will only need one license. However, if the same user uses multiple devices, you will be charged for each unique device. Note that the number of devices is usually similar to the number of users in a company. This licensing limitation is necessary since it's the easiest way to track installations without tracking specific users in any way.

Since this is a very sensitive topic we want to assure you that we do not record/store typed data as plain text. Instead, we record "typing patterns", which we then store on the device itself along with descriptive statistics and attributes in an encrypted form. This data is further used for training and authentication purposes. The entire process occurs on the device itself, so no personal data is sent to TypingDNA cloud servers or your logging platform, except for our application logs and licensing information.

Your typing style remains similar as long as you type in a similar way, which is a natural inclination for most people. However, if you injure yourself, such as your arm or fingers, it's possible that your typing style will change temporarily. If this happens, we recommend either discontinuing the use of ActiveLock until you recover or, if the injury is permanent, you can reset the application's training from the menu. Application reset can also be useful in other extreme cases, as outlined in the application guide.
